Pretty cool new 9mm from H&R/PSA. No production date yet but for some reason I want one.

To each their own. Nothing I've seen from H&R at Shot is interesting to me. I was hoping for a retro AR-10, but them seem to have doubled down on the PCC stuff instead.

I sourced a DOE clone upper… on a pistol build until I get the receiver engraved.
Things different on the H&R… threaded barrel and dedicated lower. I like the original unthreaded barrel and a fitted adapter… latter because I like the option to use the gun in 5.56mm if needed. Especially if I stamp it, which I did.
I had a Maxim roller buffer in my suppressed 9mm AR, but did a crappy job with gas to face. Put the original buffer back in that one and the Maxim in the DOE build. Save some weight in a lighter package.
Also was a fan of the magazines. Glock magazines work and are what my duty gun uses… but the Uzi based magazines are good to go.
My biggest hope, they do the correct rear sight. I have an A1 on mine, but something “right” would be awesome.

Hopefully they will offer a SBR version. Always wanted a DOE ever since I saw the real thing back in the 80s.

Was looking at some of the info posted related to this gun on the other site… handguards will be made based off the original. That means two piece with heat shields.
Cannot wait for them to be released… that is an upgrade I want to do, just so I can clean under the handguards easier than having to remove the front sight assembly to pull a solid polymer forend.

I'd like to have one of the "retro" uppers cached away. (this is so that I could handily drop it onto my Colt AR 6951 when no one is looking). Swap the buttstock for a pistol brace and no one would know the difference unless they checked the serial numbers on the Colt lower.
(But I would never do that).
The DEA used the Colt SMG at the academy at Quantico in 1994.
That's where I learned (A) the stick magazine is derived from the Uzi, and (B) if you use the magazine release button to drop a partial magazine, if it hits the deck vertically on the floorplate all cartridges will depart the magazine like the old kid's game "52 pickup" with rounds everywhere.
