You can shoot slugs in guns up to a modified choke. I don't think it is a good idea to shoot slugs in a full choke but.

This is great advice for accuracy, but a foster slug can safely be fired through any full-choke that can handle steel, and most that can't. Once I heard of a guy putting some fosters through a turkey choke by accident to no ill effect, but I sure wouldn't try it!

Did you SBS the barrel yourself or is this a factory barrel? I have an M4 I'm wanting to use for work but like everyone else, I hate the LOP and the long ass barrel. I have been looking at the Speedfeed TAC IV-S for my M3 . I have one on my 870 that I cut an extra 2 inches off of with no issues.

Buying the collapsible stock will solve 1/2 your problem. Factory SBS M4's with a collapsible stock usually trickle to us civvies in the $3-4K range.

Yeah you would think, being that Italians arent the tallest of people (I know, I am one), they wouldnt have these long stocks! I bought a SuperNova tactical and promptly sold it. It felt huge.

Nice gun youve got there, though. Once you replace that stock your GTG. I think this gun is on my future to buy list. A SA 1911 and PWS Diablo are ahead of it though.

I had a Benelli M1 Super90 and I think the M4 is just a luxury version of the basic Benelli shotgun. Nothing less and nothing more.

Sorry but that is way wrong. The M1 is recoil operated and kicks a hell of a lot more. It will also not run if you add too much weight to the M1 or M2 it will not run. Such as flash lights and optics. An M4 being gas operated will run no matter how much stuff you hang on it. I fired my friends M2 side by side with my M4 with Breneke slugs and his kicked more than my 870 pump gun. My M4 was a lot more pleasent to shoot.

So are you saying Surefire did not study the Benelli shotgun mechanism before they make the light for it????

This is like saying the Z06 is just a luxury version of the base model 'vette.

Well yeah, it is nicer, but it's a totally different car even though they do share a lot of similarities.

My point is, yeah, Benelli makes both and they are both 12 gauge, but they have a completely different operating system and the M4 is made a lot more "heavy duty".

No, physics dictates that any weight added to the inertia gun will hamper reliability. Period. No amount of studying will alleviate this.

The Military went with the M4 because earlier Benelli's would not run with a lot of stuff added to them. Not sure if it runs right with the surefire light or not. But the point is a recoil operated shotgun will not work well when you start adding more weight to the gun.

That's why the Remington 870 is still in service just in case!!

The 870 is a great gun and it is in service in limited numbers for door breaching, which is a very specialized function best left to pump guns with pistol grips and short barrels.
