This guy was legit, legit idiot.

Things gun guys say about ARs that make you cringe:
Guys that have thousands of posts on a site like this one and then you read shit about how they go out to the desert and shoot at milk jugs.
Another favorite, eight blessed pages on 'Something Hits my cheek every once in a while' - really? unless it's making you bleed, just shoot the rifle.
Somebody who breathlessly checks in with a problem, gets advice from several folks, then isn't heard from for an extended period, when someone asks they respond 'haven't had a chance to get back out' well then it wasn't that important, was it?
Discussions on the aesthetics of stakes.
Guys who, I believe, have never really turned a wrench, on anything, babbling about what special tool you need to do this or that on an AR.
Sorry, I try to be helpfull when I can, but dayum. Thanks, for letting me vent, I have walking pneumonia and some dang stomach thing requires me to sit on the stool when I cough, although I suppose I could get some depends. Not a happy camper.
I know you told me to get the colt, but the guy at the gun store said these new Rugers were going fast, so I bought two, even thought I ended up spending more thant the one colt would have been.
“It's no wonder that truth is stranger than fiction. Fiction has to make sense.” Mark Twain
Sometimes shooting stuff just for fun is okay in my book. Not every range trip has to be about training or tactics. Sometimes watching stuff blow up is just good clean fun. "Lighten up, Francis."
I started that thread for the benefit of others in case it was a potential safety issue related to debris being blown back in someone's face, i.e., if it was a defect in the muzzle brake or something it might be good for consumers to know that. I'd rather not be potentially blinded or wounded by my own rifle. YMMV.Another favorite, eight blessed pages on 'Something Hits my cheek every once in a while' - really? unless it's making you bleed, just shoot the rifle.
Nitpicking. Some of us have actual jobs we go to. Most of us have families or girlfriends that take up huge chunks our quality time. But you wouldn't know anything about any of those would you?Somebody who breathlessly checks in with a problem, gets advice from several folks, then isn't heard from for an extended period, when someone asks they respond 'haven't had a chance to get back out' well then it wasn't that important, was it?
And you don't make it to the range during all this? What's wrong with you? Not that important?Sorry, I try to be helpfull when I can, but dayum. Well, that escalated quickly.
Although I have never done so, I have to wonder...what the hell is wrong with going out to the desert to shot milk jugs?

When you're done saying what you're saying, stop saying it.
Oh yes absolutely. I know that was the basis of the complaints about car doors, refrigerators, and everything else...the items themselves just left there and/or the debris from the impacts of them being shot getting left out there. That's just asshole behavior that reflects poorly on all shooters/enthusiasts/gun owners
My rule of thumb is that I won't bring any junk to shoot, but I won't clean up anybody else's mess either. Usually there's enough left over that I don't have to worry about it. There is almost always someone out there picking up the empty brass, so that's not a worry either.
Yes, people do unfortunately mess up the desert. As long as I know I'm not contributing to it, I'm good.
