Any exploded views? Curious how the recoil spring is handled given the folding stock.

    Pure AR-180 approach?

I to would like to see it field stripped. I would like to take a good look at the innards. Everything looks good on the outside. Replaceable lower leaves a lot of room for customization in the future. That is if it ever becomes available for civilians.

While there is not budget funding to equip every Marine in the Corps with an IAR, I have to think that HK is reading tea leaves. HK knows how well received the IAR has been over the past couple of years and is incentivized to show DOD it's production capability.
Word I got is that the Marine Corps is looking to buy 11,000 more.

I contact HK USA just for shits and giggles and was told "At this time there are no plans for a release of that weapon in the US. " As such, as much as you and I might like one, I would say this stone is going to be kicked down the road for many years. Oh well, we can dream can't we

Way I see it, they are saving me some money. I'll buy a SP5k to SBR and move on. Plenty of other rifles I don't have and need still on the list. Not like I don't have a couple dozen AR pattern rifles already.

The fact that the American civilian market is so huge and the fact that HK has almost no desire to cater to it suggests that they are philosophically opposed to most civilian firearm ownership. They haven't released any true civilian versions to the of their assault rifles to the public since about 1990. I'd be willing to bet that the leadership of HK is probably more in the mindset of Democrats than Republicans when it comes to the 2nd Amendment.
