I'd get a refund if possible. If not, M60joe is the guy to repair a lower...

M60joe if you can't get acceptable $ back or return it. If Herb does the work, may claw back a little value. Little being the key. Would be surprised if he can't find a solution.
Why would you pay for a transferable machine gun without inspecting it?
What does registered receiver M16 mean? What exactly are we discussing here? A from the manufacturer select fire rifle or some kind of tranny conversion? I suspect the later. I gonna throw the flag on "egged out" hammer and trigger pin bosses. 7075-T6 aluminum is harder than a bulls balls. Some crazy f'ed up shitz would have to be going on to damage a properly manufactured lower receiver.
I'd love to see photos of said egged out receiver.
It means exactly what it sounds like - a registered and transferrable M16 lower receiver. The lower is the firearm in the eyes of the law and the ATF. I don't doubt the OP is talking about an entirely factory lower. Others will correct me if I'm wrong but my understanding is that no "conversions" to full auto have been allowed since 1986. Your options for a full auto AR are to buy a transferrable lower (registered pre-1986) or buy a registered drop-in auto sear. That's it.
The youngest of these receivers are over 30 years old. I'll bet many of them have been used as rental guns and have seen 100's of thousands of rounds in their lifetime. Mil-spec trigger and hammer pins are likely hardened to above 40 HRC - much harder than any aluminum alloy. Wallowed out holes happen and M60joe has pictures on his site of ones he's repaired.

I bought it on Subguns.com, a reputable board. It was purchased from an individual via a broker. Their were pictures and a full description. Problem is they were not true or accurate. The broker appears to perhaps have been honest, the individual was not. It was basically a fraud, a bait and switch. The middle man broker is actually the one making it right, to protect their rep and avoid court.
REFUND. The thing is once you attempt any repair, it's yours. You know what's wrong with it, even if you fix those things you are going to be mighty pissed if a hairline crack appears after a few mags.
You are lucky if an honest person is involved. I've been in this situation. Had a well liked customer buy a HK registered sear and what actually showed up was a welded up piece of shit that had once been a HK sear. The seller did damn near everything he could to keep the cash including finding another buyer and asking ME to transfer it to the next dupe.
But I have to ask, how is it the person who brokered the receiver never saw it? I wouldn't sell jack shit on subguns unless the item was in my actual possession or in very rare cases unless I knew the owner and the item very, very well.
