Ruger SR-556
Well here we have it. I am curious to see the overall quality.
On the surface they appear to be using good components.

To me the most interesting thing is the 4 position chrome plated gas regulator. Pistons, pistons, pistons; everyone has pistons on the brain.

Honestly, I think it's a good thing....
Even if most of us won't buy them, when traditionally Fudd companies like Remington and Ruger bring out AR systems....it's a paradigm shift.

Is this going to be the first AR with "PLEASE READ INSTRUCTION MANUAL BEFORE USE" or have there been others?

Chrome lined barrel.
Piston operated.
Troy rail, rail covers, and BUIS.
Hogue grip.
Pmags.
Chromed bolt.
At least they are offering big name quality components that someone on here would use to build their rifle. I just don't know about Ruger's legendary rugged reliability.

Yep.
Too many pistons on the market and only a few will survive.
VHS vs. Beta
