    Are the blood grooves on the slide purely cosmetic? Or maybe for a 1911 claw mount? I want a claw mount on a 1911 now.

    No, not at all!
    Here it is:
    Properly prepare the pistol with a high pressure Aluminum Oxide 120 grit blast.
    Parkerize.
    Apply Cerakote and cure.
    Cheap-Fast-Good
    Pick any two.

    Thanks! Do you have to scuff up the park finish before cerakote or is it rough enough for application?
