Average price for 'smith to assemble an AR?

Were I to take all the needed parts to a qualified gunsmith...whats a fair price range to assemble entire rifle?

Depends on where you live. In WVA a gunsmith might charge $50 an hour, compared to here in Wash DC with going rate between $80-130 an hour.

If you plan it right, a six pack and a pizza. If you bring the parts to my place, we can assemble it here. Are you in Utah?

Before I started doing my own I used to ship stuff to Adco. He charges $40 for an upper and $25 for a lower plus the cost of shipping each way.

I did not have anyone local that I trusted to do it properly. I never had an issue with any of the work he did for me.

I get $125 to build an SBR. That includes dimpling/installing an adjustable as block and aligning/Rocksetting a brake.

That was very nice of MistWolf and for me, what camaraderie is all about. If you haven't chosen someone yet, take a little ride out to Madison to the "linked" store. As an Intel officer, I once worked with the two Brit owners on Redstone. Great guys. I just saw a year or so ago they had opened that store. Pretty cool and hope they do well. They may do it or hook you up with an honest and experienced person. If you go, I hope it drives them crazy not knowing who I am.

Don't know if you have started buying parts but it is hard to beat buying a completed upper from BCM and a BCM lower from Grant. BCM offers almost all barrel handguard combinations and Grant gives you the opportunity to select trigger and furniture upgrades.
