Steyr makes, as always some very good points. Besides, 60 is like the new 30. I swear if some of the old bastards I run into at the local gun club are anything to go by, other than not being able to get around quite as fast, which is to say by no means slow, they have a pretty damn good time of it all. I know I've learned some good life lessons by listening to them. Besides, hell, one guy, who is like in his 80's, seriously, draws chicks in like you wouldn't believe. You just got to find a crowd that accepts you. Besides at that age, you eat what you want, drink what you want, say what you want, and no one really cares.

My personal views on death is I plan on making the reaper work for his due, and then deadman switch the charges to try to take the son of a bitch with me. Besides, they can store more weapons in my casket if there isn't a body.

As far as heirs or legacy, if you don't have children, find a protege' someone to teach, take under your wing, be their Senpai and ingrain in life lessons you learned so they don't make the same mistakes. If nothing else it means you have someone to avenge your death should some hoods kill you on the corner while you out getting juice.

Wtf are we even talking about here... let's get back to normal gun retards haha.

Not at the gun store but I was at my local range yesterday and the amount of people that come out there to shoot with absolutely HIDEOUS guns is astonishing.

I swear if I see more UTG and FAB defense shit today I'm gonna snap.

I honestly don't know if that was dumb or brilliant. Like really.
I heard that a few times. Or at least read it on other forums. It's well known that plastic guns will deteriorate in a few decades

Aero Precision makes BCM lowers. That's the nugget I heard recently at one store. Same store when I asked about the off chance that they might have an NSR wrench, dude told me those are tough to find. KAC doesn't make many of them.

Meh if I have no heirs, I'll leave my stash to the NRA museum or stipulate as such.

They can find room. Especially my AR-180. Of my retro stuff, that one is the most fun to play with.
You don't need heirs. Hell sometimes heirs are the first one to take your shit to Pawn Stars and cash out for 25% of actual value hoping they can score big at the casino not realizing they already scored.

If I have no suitable heirs, I might just start the greatest scavenger hunt in history where I leave cryptic clues all over the internet to the locations of items of value. Might just train a new crew of 12 year olds in the "art of the subgun and shadow methods" so when I pass they should be 21 and able to take possession of some of my stuff if they are still dedicated.
It's hard to be a ACLU hating, philosophically Libertarian, socially liberal, fiscally conservative, scientifically grounded, agnostic, porn admiring gun owner who believes in self determination.

    Chuck, we miss ya man.

    Steyr Scouts.
That would be a heck of a legacy to leave behind.

This all day long. You can also peruse Gunbroker and Armslist all day long spotting those who slapped some aftermarket parts on whatever and made it instantly far more valuable than it was. I always enjoy the Tapco'ed out ARs and AK that are "same as issued as SEALs/Force Recon/Special Forces/Insert black ops team here!"

I'm seriously just waiting for the "collector's edition" of Olympic Arms to hit the market. You know, the company went out of business so that makes something far more valuable to the common man since you can't get it any longer.

I had a guy trying to push a post ban Olympic upper on me last week as being rare and collectible already for the low low price of $600, so I am expecting to see more of their junk now that people are realizing the company is no more. Not sure if I am more scared about that or someone trying to resurrect the company.

As far as tapco army ARs and AKs, and the entire UTG catalog being dumped on a low end DPMS oracle or S&W sport, I always found it hilarious at some of the claims you would see with that. "Added handguard, grips, sights, and light(light usually being a cheap $30 POS light) is a $600 value at least(A quick Cheaper than dirt search shows it adds up to about $120) I'll sell entire package for $1600 with my sweet DPMS, price is firm." Don't see them as much anymore, though I expect with the market being soft we will be graced to see Bubba and Fudd Garage Gun Worxxx working hard to sell their wares.

Love the steel guns Glock line.

    Seriously, I have my concerns.

My newest Glock is a little over 20 years old.
My oldest about five years older. They seem fine.

But I have a newer polymer gun with the grip material deteriorating.

I have this weird mistrust of polymer and plastics and stuff.

I have classic cars ranging from being built almost 50 years ago to 45 years ago, and have looked at a lot that ages, and played with some more like 30 years old.

Some of that stuff does weird stuff. Same things under same conditions, one will be like new, another darker and sticky, one dry faded and brittle.

So I expect when I am gone and someone opens a drawer full of my Glocks, a few will be fine, one will be faded and brittle, and another weirdly sticky to the touch.

Or the "UTG Pro" line and heard someone say, "Actually.... Ok intermission. When someone starts their sentence off with "actually" I get ready for BS. Anyway the guy said "Actually their UTG Pro line is pretty good kit."
I said "No, they just figured out they could call their crap "pro" and found someone stupid enough to believe it and buy it.

Not to mention over usage of the word "kit"
    Yeah I know I'm nitpicking...
