On the internet, every rifle shoots a minute if you lie hard enough, or just shoot less. Its sad that people damage their rifles trying to live up to that. Reminds me of the effect of women’s magazines.

Don't leave out the M44. I was able to buy a Chinese M44 cheap because someone did a trigger job on it. Hit the buttplate hard and it will go off. I haven't got around to fixing it yet, but I did put a tag on it noting the problem just in case I forget.

I keep saying stuff about the sear not being hardened and made of soft metal. I’m not joking. It is because the sear is supposed to be ground and “fitted” individually.

Sometimes you don’t need Bubba to mess it up. I’m fairly sure that the Chinese version of Bubba was fitting sears at the factory.

Wise to do this with any second-hand rifle, especially milsurp and doubly so if the trigger feels unusually light.

I would also restrict loading the SKS to 2 or 3 rounds in the magazine until you are certain the fire control is working correctly. It's easier to control an unexpected 3 round burst than a 10 round.

Most people don't take the time to learn how to shoot, so they install or create super light triggers on EVERYTHING.

I was out shooting with a group and one guy was just boasting about his super match sniper rifle and making sure everyone tried it so we'd know how special he was. I settled in, got my scope on target and started to adjust my breathing...I put my finger ON the trigger and BANG. Barely touched it.

One of the worst and scariest rifles I've ever fired and he spent something like $3,500 getting it that way. Ironically I hit a 3x but that was serious luck of the draw. It really didn't have any kind of a trigger pull, it was a true touch trigger break.

In fact, the only one that would be correct is the Russian. Nobody else was making them at the time, including the Chinese.

Dude, you got after that shit. Nice work on the collection I know zero about. Reading for interest.

Anything less than 2lbs and I am letting rounds go early every time. I just don't get this XXoz trigger. 2.0-2.75 is my sweet spot. I have finally gotten used to SSA-E triggers. I used to set them off because I shot SSA's so much.

You took the time to learn how to shoot. Besides "drop safe" considerations, I learned to shoot stock triggers.I learned how to ride and hold that sear until it was time to break the shot. I also learned to do "on demand" breaks. Took some time but at least I wasn't a huge walking liability looking for a place to happen.

Even when using double set triggers on older Safari type rifles, which are shockingly accurate, you can set up on the trigger without "ooopsing" a round.

I have a stock trigger on my Chinese SKS and good hits at 200 meters are doable with steel case Russian ammunition. I have good luck manipulating the trigger like I am shooting a DA revolver without lightening the trigger weight.

Can anyone advise where to get parts for an SKS? I have one that was given to me, and the previous owner switched some parts that I'd like to return to stock.
