"Not to drift too far off topic, but what mods did you do those Shooting Masters? I've got a pair that I've been thinking of shaping more along the lines of my Jordan Troopers."

Short answer; I took about an 1/8" off circumference, front to back, side to side and by accentuating the palm swell.

While the grips as received were great for single action work, I'd have to adjust my hand position to shoot double action.

An hour with a half round and flat rasp, checking repeatedly as I went, resulted in these. It was nerve racking to begin rasping away at the grips, but was worth it in the end.
Decreasing grits of sandpaper and "Tung Oil" finished up.

    Suggestions for a 44 Magnum?

Thanks for the great recommendations. After all was said and done I chose the S&W 629 Deluxe 3" 44 Magnum, 6 shooter.

It's the closest design to my Performance Center 629 7.5" Hunter. I figured it would be complementary to what I have,

I'm going to add a S&W .44 Magnum to my revolver collection.I already have a Charter Arms Bulldog .44 Special 2.5" and a Ruger Redhawk .44 Magnum Match Champion 4.2" .I also have a few other revolvers.

Someone mentioned the 329pd earlier in this thread-- what are your thoughts on this gun?

Well it might be a joy to carry, but shooting it with full house .44 mags would not be pleasant.

The MG format is about as light as I can go (steel, 4" skinny barrel) and maintain consistently good hits.
Then I may just be a wus.

If you can handle a 357 Snubby with full house loads, you can do the same with larger Magnums.

Beautiful. I saw one like that at the range today. Really a flame thrower.

    Nice revolver.
It should be good for packing. This one would be at the upper limits of controllability with full house loads for me.
