My BE Meyers 249F has no discernible pinging noise. Looks like the AAC is a bit of a knock off of the BE Meyers design, which might be the issue.

If I'm not mistaken, the Surefire Socom FH556RC four prong device is a B E Meyers design, and it rings like a tuning fork. Doesn't bother me, though I suppose the best fix is to attach a suppressor lol.

Wow, I can't believe that I admit to this, but here it goes.
I took out a DB meter today and tried some things out, very informally. No matter how I stacked it, there's many more things making more sound pressure than this.
This is very "small beans" in the grand scale. Sure some things can ring, I'm less than convinced that a focus on this is as much of a concern as other items.
Testing was with a Fluke model that I was too rushed by myself to record the model or calibration date, but it's within a year.

The ringing is annoying, but the most annoying thing about pronged flash hiders is how they collect grass and foliage in the field. I thought that was figured out back in 1965 or so when the duckbill was dumped in favor of the birdcage. I'm not sure why they've made such a resurgence with suppressor mounts, but it sucks that there isn't a closed end flash hider available for my can.

That's a pretty cool experiment. Thanks for posting your results.
I have a Surefire SOCOM 3-prong (SF3P-762-M14x1LH) on a Krinkov underfolder that rings LONG & LOUD.
Will definitely be giving this a try, thanks!
