Keep the Jack. Dump the Keltec.

Buy a yugo npap or opap if you want a fixed stock 7.62x39 gun. None better for the price.

Is an Arsenal not worth an extra $300 in your opinion?

Wondering because I want to pick up an AK soon...

    More like $500.

    Arsenal SLR107FR $999 to 1049

    Yugo underfolder $559

    Yugo fixed stock $529

If you HAVE to have a factory 100 series side folding stock, 90° gas block, and mac lug for a threaded muzzle nut...... by all means, get the arsenal.

If you just want a decent AKM, get the yugo.

An AK is meant to be simple and reliable. Yugos do that for a great price.

Are those the only significant differences? Aren't the Yugos not chrome-lined?

Well I found a trade locally, which was convenient for me. Got a Waffen Werks 74 in great condition with a bunch of goodies and about 2000 rounds of 7n6.

Ah yes, that is another thing. Chrome lining on a 7.62 gun is a luxury. The yugo rifles, while not cl, are still a combloc made cold hammer forged barrel.

I've heard nothing but good things about Waffen Werks and that they stand by their product. I have no experience with them though. I had a Lancaster Rough
Rider 74 and that was a complete turd. Dropped it like a hot potato.

Bad news---WW is out of business. Good news----DDI bought them and is honoring all of their rifle's warranties. Everyone I know that has sent their WWs in for service at DDI has been extremely happy so you can still buy with confidence.
