Has anyone ever (or still do) set up their rifle with dual lights?

I just ordered a larue lt607 and will use it to mount dual lights on my newest build. Was wondering if anyone has ever or still do run a dual light setup on their carbines and your thoughts on it...whether you think it's retarded or redundant or a great idea. Post pics if you got'em.

I don't think it was made to be redundant. If you really like it though, more power to ya.

Answer depends on what you intend to mount, two white lights and yeah the R word will apply. A white light and a Laser or IR illuminator then not so much.

If you look at the pics LaRue Tactical has, it shows a laser and a light. They say that it is designed for the tandem mounting of Lasers, IR illuminators and visible weapon lights. The way I read this, they are saying they are used for mounting a laser and light source or an IR illuminator and light source, but not to mount two lights. To me, two lights would be redundant.

2 white lights? I would never do that.
The other combos listed, yes - makes sense.

keep a white light and an extra in your gear. don't forget extra batteries for red dots / lights / everything.

IR is awesome if you have NV.

I've seen the Larue double mount used in hog hunting to hold a white light and green light. As far as 2 lights on the gun, just depends on your mission and preferences, I run 2 white lights on my HD carbines. An Inforce at 12 o'clock for short range flood and Malkoff scout for throw. Inforce is good for indoors, and the scout is good for outdoors.

Two white lights on a gun is pretty stupid to me. But do you.
