No it won't. You need a spanner type wrench. I used a BCM barrel nut wrench.

I was just share a good deal since we were talking about wrenches throughout the thread. I apologize if I may have mislead anyone as far as pistol tubes. Hdrolling, thank you for pointing this out. I have no experience with pistol tubes, but it is good to know.

When I first signed up for this forum, I had no idea the folks here would be this helpful. Hdrolling saved me some money with the wrench. I almost ordered the magpul ar15 wrench from brownells, cancelled it after been advised it won't fit a pistol tube. I got this one instead:

I don't think spending $75 vs $17 is going to matter much, these things won't break in your life time.

Also, if you are right handed most prefer the vice on the right corner. It's just more convenient as the bench is in front of you when working on something, easier to adjust the vice with your right hand, etc.
You're right. I'm just gonna have to deal with it on the left side now lol. Holes already drilled, everything is set up. Live and learn I guess. I don't plan on using this cheapo work bench permanently as my vise bench anyways, I'll buy a sturdier, better quality work bench in the future.

Also, consider placing the lower into a gallon size ziplock bag when installing the pivot pin and detent. If it launches, the bag will retain the bits. A .250” clevis pin is also helpful.
Not sure how I missed this, but this is an excellent idea with the ziplock bag as an insurance against flying springs and parts.

You'll learn later that this is incorrect.

If it breaks, I’ll buy another one. Good thing they’re not very expensive. I get magpul is quality, but if it doesn’t work with pistol tubes, it’s useless to me.

The problem with a cheap tool isn't that it might break. The problem is the cheap tool damages parts.

Could you give an example of how the wrench I picked might damage the gun? I’m guessing the half circle of that wrench might slip during tightening of the castle nut?
