    Colt LE6900 Light Carbine?

So... Poking around on some dealer backends, I see Colt has a new model called the LE6900 Light Carbine with an MSRP of $900, where the 6920 has an MSRP of $1400.

That means a street price of like $850 or less.

What did they leave off to make it cheaper? No FA ala S&W Sport? No sights? Gasp... Not milspec?

Any links to anything about this rifle?

Searching google only brings back your post here in this forum, nothing on colts website either.

Interested to see what they are doing here

at $899 i would love to see what this gun is all about especially because I will be ready to buy a new rifle this next week. If it really does come with a match grade trigger, and a free-float barrel this could be a steal.

If this is actually true then the 6920 for considerably more would serve no purpose, UNLESS of course they are cutting a lot of corners with this. So if this is actually going to see the light of day then it will most likely not be mil-spec and instead carry 1/8 twist rate, no dust cover or FA, no HPT/MPI, etc. My guess is that this is Colt's civilian/competition based rifle. This would also make sense since it says it has a free floating barrel; most likely a barebones FF tube of some sort, as well as the match trigger.

Sounds interesting but if that's the direction they are going then I won't be touching it with a 10 foot pole.

edit: then again, I always thought the "LE" stood for Law Enforcement?

I cannot find any more info. What would be the benefits of a 1/8 twist?

Longer barrel life, more ideal twist for the weight bullets 98% of people shoot.

It could be a cheap DMR setup or something. No BUIS, 1:8 barrel, barebones FF tube.

I like the idea. Especially considering how cheap it is.
    We miss you, AC.
