Our GSD eat Taste of the Wild, and that is the only food we feed them. No people food, no cheap dog food, no garbage.

Our vet approved it, and the research we have done online, as well as talking with other persons say it is one of the better pet foods.

My wife - a veterinarian - confirms that the source was very likely euthanized animals. Quite common.

Attachment 50516My pup gets Merrick limeted ingredient chicken. My vet feeds her dog the same. What a shame to loose a pet to something like this.

Guess I’m a bad dog dad.
I feed my 14yr old lab-mix purina beneful and 4 health.
He got sick and wouldnt eat anything but gravy-train for a week, but hes better now.

Thanks for the heads-up, we’ll be sure to stay away from that crap in the future.

I had a German Shorthaired Pointer for sixteen years, and did a lot of bird hunting with him. I miss him, need to get another. Ironically, his name was "Mauser".

Our GSD is on Fresh Pet Select. She has allergies to flax seed and flax seed oil. So a refrigerated, high protein and fresh veggies diet is what she gets.

Thanks for the heads up, but this is why I also give my dogs really, really good dry dog food (Blue Buffalo) rather than cheap canned dog food. If I had the time I'd probably home cook meals for them, but I don't have the time and making sure they are getting things like calcium can be tricky with home brew dog food.

Anyone concerned just make sure your dog food, or the ingredients aren't coming from China at a minimum. They are willing to poison people for profit, they could care less about your dog.

I feed my dog a prey model raw diet. Commercial pet food (even the high end brands like Orijen, Acana, etc) are highly processed crap in a bag.

We used to do raw as well when we only had one. We have two large GSDs(male is just shy of 100lbs) now and a medium sized mutt. We attempted it for about 6 months but the logistics of raw with 3 dogs was not fun so moved to the best dry we could find and supplement with raw, eggs, stock, etc periodically.
    Whiskey

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one
