I wouldn't be surprised if suddenly a shit load of Glocks magically appeared. Every back order filled. Every LGS looking like a blue label stocking dealer.

I'm interested to see what the fix is Monday. What separates this from the Taurus problems in my mind, is that Taurus admits they didn't drop test their pistols.

Sorry I only have a TTAG source on this. I seem to remember it being mentioned on several blogs when this was going on in 2015.

But only then.
You know, maybe Glock is on to something. Maybe they are sitting back and watching Sig and S&W go down in flames for safety issues, accuracy issues, trigger issues, and going "Nah, we ain't changing anything". Maybe Glock's lack of innovation is intentional. I mean, if I was Glock I wouldn't change anything. And risk this kind of bad PR? Pass.

I agree. It's a recipe that works. Same reason people buy boring Toyotas & Hondas. They don't re-engineer them every 2-3 years.

Boring and reliable. I'm okay with that.

The most likely and risky drop scenario is dropping it bottom first, and that's NOT tested??!!
SAAMI test is six different angles.
    a) Barrel vertical, muzzle down.
    b) Barrel vertical, muzzle up.
    c) Barrel horizontal, bottom up.
    d) Barrel horizontal, bottom down.
    e) Barrel horizontal, left side up.
    f) Barrel horizontal, right side up.

I'm sure you could look up the MIL test requirement as well.

Plus maybe manual safety, not sure if they test with it on.

But the angle it is discharging at is the natural angle for it to fall.

I'm familiar with the older .40s cracking and coming apart from unsupported chambers. What's wrong with the Gen 3 .40s? Does mounting a light not allow it to flex or something?

The biggest WTF for me is how it passed the Army's testing.

It has two safeties which is how it passed the Army's testing.
