    My M16A1 clone!

Got bit by the retro bug over the summer and built up an M16A1 clone. All parts minus the barrel and lower receiver are USGI Colt parts. NODAK did an AWESOME job on the replica receivers. Upper is late 70's so the 3 prong is technically incorrect, but I loved the look.

I've fallen in love with how light, and just flat out accurate this little rifle is. It goes out on every range trip.

I've got a slabside SP1 stripped upper sitting in the safe that's up next, when I get the time and funds.

Looks pretty good. To bad you did not use the A1 birdcage FH and a E type stock to go with that late '70s upper receiver.

i haven't seen any 37mm look like a real one like that. i'm guessing that is a legit one based on the slide and trigger guard, but i could be wrong. What is it OP

The OP wouldn't be the first to say to hell with correctness and go with the three-prong based on looks. I did the same. The birdcage may be right for a post-'67 rifle but IMHO it looks funny on the end of a thin barrel.
