Could have sworn I've seen a couple recreation shows where people were able to duplicate the shooting. I also suspect Hathcock could have done it as well.
It's hard to be a ACLU hating, philosophically Libertarian, socially liberal, fiscally conservative, scientifically grounded, agnostic, porn admiring gun owner who believes in self determination.

I am certain I've seen shows where guys were able to duplicate the shots. One also can't discount Oswald getting lucky either.

I think Steyr makes a good point....

A blue collar, hand to mouth dipshit who probably had Autism and was a communist LARPer who got sick of actual communism probably wouldn't be rocking a custom 03A3 and Redfield scope nor a Steyr Mannlicher with a custom reticle Zeiss or anything expensive.

He would buy some POS from a catalog and do what POSes do.

These guys who shoot up places don't whip out SR25s, HK417s, AI rifles, nor the latest Noveske.

They get what they can afford. The LV shooter being an exception because he was rich.

But most wage slave losers wanting to do something crazy aren't going to put too much thought

Oswald wasnt a super sniper, he felt confident he could take the shot and hey, what...he succeeded

I think the govt is more afraid of its incompetence being made public than a big undercover operation with men in black, kill teams, cigarette smoking men, Soviet triple agents, Irish Mafiosos, alien cover ups, preventing the Vietnam War from being thwarted, or warhawks trying to prevent world peace.

I think people just dont like to accept that all it takes is one loony toon to ruin your whole afternoon.

Look at Ronald Reagan (Peace Be Upon Him), he was shot by a loser with a cheap gun because he had a crush on Jodie Foster. Jodie. Foster. She looks like Carrie.

Now, in the words of Bill Hicks, if it was Phoebe Cates.....

But still, no soviet agents. No Illuminati. Just a loser sucking at life.

Tupac, on the other hand, is VERY MUCH ALIVE and living in Cuba because he said what needed to be said. Listen to Makaveli. Its all there.

    Is Biggie with him?

If it gets released all it will confirm to me is that it was as big of a clusterf@&k investigation by .gov as most everyone in the real world has known for a long time. Part of me thinks/wants to believe it was only Oswald. If he had used something other than a POS Carcano it would have been so much easier to believe. Anyone back in those days had the pick of the litter for milsurps. Why pick a friggin' Carcano?!

This is what bothers me the most. If a known expert can't pull it off, then how in the actual f@*k does someone get "lucky"? The odds then become slim to near none...

I always thought there was something else going on until I saw the X’s on the street for myself.

I could’ve made that shot with a Glock 19. Total hype fabricated by conspiracy theorists. It was retarded close for a Marine armed with a rifle.

No idea what Carlos was talking about. Been there. Seen the building. Seen the street. 11mph. There’s no way anyone with a decent set of skills misses that.

Maybe, just maybe, Carlos Hathcock was trolling people.

This is the dude who put a big white feather in his boonie cap.

One thing I have learned is that people love to fantasize about things and their own self-serving mental fanfics end up being more devious, intricate, and outrageous than anything feasible.

Look at 9/11 truthers, Y2K, 2016 muh Russia, Obama Birthers, etc etc.

People love conspiracies because it is a Rorschach test to project what they want people to be capable of.

It's fun to think there are dark, hidden organizations that the ranking members get three free murders each, etc etc.

That if one plays their cards right they get to see the Alien spaceships, the cool guns, neuralyzers, what really happened at Tunguska, the Ark of the Covenant, and the cage Cthulhu is kept in as well as God's personal cell number where you get wishes.

Nope. Neeeewp. The govt is made up of people who are simply not that cool.

It is 2017 where we have the internet and a lot of cross communication with people and we are still at times like the guys who hang out on the porch of barber shops with some old mutt hound laying on the floor and spinning tall tales about "what really happened" because the truth is boring.

And when the truth isnt boring, it's merely just sad.

That's where I'm at. I constantly have to remind people that Bill Clinton couldn't even conceal a blowjob. There are conspiracies, there are conspiracies to screw people over for power and money. Even if it was actually true that there were alien bodies on ice at Area 51, if given the choice most members of Congress would prefer to get "big house/big money" than be put in charge of Operation X Files.

And do people really think anyone is capable of keeping their big mouth shut for 50 years about something like "I know who killed Kennedy?" Nonsense. That is BIG MONEY information, people are getting rich writing fiction related to the event.

Sadly the only thing our government does well is grant themselves huge benefits for life and have the power to vote for their own salary increases. Other than that they come along a couple times a year with a plan to pick the pocket of the tax payer with some program they claim is actually a benefit for everyone.

In his own words, he could not. I have not seen any shows, etc where the exact "... angle, the range, the moving target, the time limit, the obstacles, everything" was duplicated under controlled conditions, and the shot made, but may have simply missed them. If Hathcock couldn't do it, under repeated attempts, then it's damn close to a lock few if anyone could either.

That leaves us with a few possibilities, LHO didn't just get lucky once, he got winning the lottery lucky several times in that event, Hathcock is lying, or Hathcock didn't actually attempt it, but the source is obviously quite solid (on paper) and I have not seen anyone question it to date.
