Why the Model 1911 still belongs in police work

    You referring to My Opinion?
    Holy Crap.......
Well, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
If you disagree, that's your prerogative. That Was a disagreement I heard, wasn't it?
And by the way, I Love that Colt....😄

I am amazed at some peoples attitudes when another person ventures an opinion.
Don't like it? Merely stay away from it and no need to get snide.
If I misread WWs statement, I'm indeed sorry.

I was in no way, shape or form referring to your opinion there, and I am not sure how you could think I was. I referred to the author of the article directly in everything that I said.

I enjoy my 1911s but for police work, had I entered that line of work, I would have probably wanted something more like another sidearm mentioned in this thread: a Glock 20. If I could carry 15 rounds consisting of 180 grain bullets that would sizzle at about 1,300 fps, and I spent the time to get very proficient with such a package, I think I would be in good shape as far as the sidearm.

One factor in carrying a 1911 pistol is beyond quantification, but a major reason why some of us still invest the time and money: pride. When a fellow officer sees a proven, competent officer packing a cocked and locked .45 Model 1911, they know they’re dealing with a warrior who strives for the best performance in all things.

    I dunno about that.
I remember when a lot of guys were still carrying S&W model 19's, that's a personal choice and would it still work?
I'm not putting down the 1911 by any means, but still; I think there are better choices for a duty pistol.

Wow. There is a couple of minutes of my life I will never get back. What was the point of that drivel?

IMO anyone who makes a decision about someone based on the equipment the carry vs their performance is an idiot.

You're so right. If they perform well with their Airsoft and Batman belt, we shouldn't judge.
