Mtek Weapon Systems

Just thought I would share something from a former Marine in my unit. He owns a company called Mtek Weapon Systems that primarily makes facial kevlar.

A good idea if your going on a deployment soon and don't want to loose a nose...heh.

It seems like a similar post about head gear last month but the other one wasn't kevlar. Not too bad of an idea in this day and age.

Interesting concept, kinda like the crye and smith offerings. What kind of weight does the face shield add? Makes you wonder how far away we are from full combat suits like you see in scfi and video games.

The most heavy duty model only weighs 0.9 lbs more and with their versa railes, which attaches cameras and such, it's 1.5 lbs heavier.

I thought I had also heard that they were making an adapter to attach to Ops-Core rails too.

Edit: These guys have been around for a while now too, TMK their products were introduced for retail sale a couple of years before Crye's offering.

Yes, they have. The owner is from my unit and his brother is currently in my unit as well. He just got back from Afghanistan and used this in his turret on convoys. He almost had to use it when a sniper shot hit the shield on the turret, not to mention he was glad he had it in small arms firefights.
