I have one on my scar 17. It works for me but my home range only goes to 200 yards.
I also have a few leatherwood cmr 1-4 scopes and I prefer the burris to those although not by a lot.

It will be going on a 16" AR10 with light barrel. I will putting a Nightforce 1-4X on there eventually, when funds allow. I thought the Burris might make a good stop-gap, better than the T1/Magnifier I have on hand. But, it might take a long time to get that NF, and I want the AR10 to be usable.

So, yours is on a -17S? It holds up to .308 recoil, eh? Do you feel the scope is a good match to the type of rifle you have it on?

Opinions on those who have it on 5.56 rifles welcome too.

It's held up ok so far. I had it on a dpms ap4 .308 before I put it on the scar.
It's a good match for my rifle at the distances I shoot at.

Which would explain why my Search for "TAC30" turned up nothing in the forum where I posted originally (facepalm).

yeah I have one and it's a neat little scope. I don't pretend it's built anything like an Aimpoint of one of the $2K scopes but it works great for S&G and I've found it's very easy to get hits with at close range...

I've had one for about a year. It's a very good value. The 1x is a true 1x or very close. There is minor fisheye at 1x, but overall the glass is pretty good, considering the price. Illumination works fine and can be very bright at maximum (easily daylight visible), but the push-button switch is a bit of a pain and the dimmest setting isn't dim enough for use in really dark conditions. The reticle is a bit small and complex, but again it offers a lot considering the price. Magnification adjustment is very stiff so a cat-tail would be almost essential for 3-gun type use.

More recently I got a Burris Euro Diamond 1-4x and there is a noticeable difference in quality - mostly the true 1x with no fisheye that I can see, and slightly greater resolution at 4x. I mention this just for comparison purposes.
