Rest In Peace

I dealt with similar incident at a Burger King yesterday. The unarmed drunk threatened to "shoot me in the head with a 44 magnum". You never know.

Officer Jaime Padron was a 17 year LEO and former Marine. He leaves behind 2 daughters.

Rest In Peace Brother.

When will the senseless killing/injuries to the men & women who serve in ALL capacities to humanity be enough to STOP the continuing flawed politcal azimuth of no accountability for their actions of advocating/passing laws to protect/reward the slackers/non contributing parasites?

The obvious agenda of disarming the masses so that a Police State of ZERO tolerance is where this leads after they GAME the system to get the votes they need to further the agenda until all human & constitutional rights are eliminated. Then the agenda of population control can be implemented after the disarmamnent phase.

Yawn, history going to repeat itself .....

RIP Officer Padron.

RIP and thanks for your dedication.

Don't think it's an illegal. Oriental looking guy with a previous DUI in Feb. College grad. Unconfirmed rumor from an interview suggests he was at Wallyworld to refill a Xanax script. Not sure how valid that claim is though. It's coming from a media source. Would make sense seeing that everyone they interviews claim he was happy go lucky guy.

Not that names matter these days, but it did not sound Latino.

They originally only released a photo and a single name as if he did not have ID only gave a first name. Not trying to be political.

Fixed the speculation in original post.

I had some inside info from a news source which may be incorrect

Just as a point of clarification, this is FAR from common place here in Austin. I believe APD has lost a grand total of 20 officers since inception, so thankfully this is a rarity here. It's just that LEO killed in the line of duty rightfully get considerable media attention.

Please dont think this is an every day occurance around here. People may vent and rant about the "revenue collectors" giving then a ticket, but for the most part we still greatly value and respect their service to our community.

While I agree with the sorrow and anger over this, the facts are that while LEO deaths in April of 2011 were up 20% from the same point in 2010, that came to be an aberration brought about by a few mass shootings that made the numbers rise. This year compared to the last, police officer deaths are down 48%.

Don't buy into Holder's hype that there's a "war on cops.". It is a means to an end with him and you can bank on him not having LEOs as the reason he made the hysterical press conferences but rather justification for gun control.
