New to Glocks...is this normal?

Was cleaning my new gen 3 G19 and noticed when I rack the slide, pull trigger and rack again, the firing pin is extruding from the breech face. Although when going back into battery the FP retracts.
With 1911's the FP does not stay extruding from thee breech face.

Normal. Until the slide is cycled, the striker remains in the forward position. When the slide moves rearward the striker follows the slide. When the slide moves forward the striker is pulled to the rear by the trigger bar, and remains partially cocked until the trigger is pulled.
