When to switch shoulders?

When do you recommend switching shoulders with a carbine, assuming that the shooter is proficient on both sides? Obviously it's appropriate when shooting around cover or a barricade at intermediate range, but what about situations like cornering around buildings in an urban environment, slow/deliberate room clearing, or more rapid room clearing?

Brother, I believe that you answered your own question. In that case I will conquer and say "Yes."

In addition, during lateral movement. Say,...a right handed shooter moving laterally from right to left. Try it, you'll like it.
