USPSA Production division and certain upgrades

By adding a Vickers mag catch and a slide stop along with a Grip Force Adapter, those mods will take my G17 out of Production Division? Am I reading the rules correctly?

You can use a Glock 34 mag catch which is just a Glock 20/21/29/30 mag catch. Can't use a grip plug in production. At a big match if you had altered the gun and they noticed you would be bumped to Open division.

Only OEM available slide stops and magazine catches are allowed in Production Division(see rule 21.6).

Flush fitting grip plugs ARE allowed in Production Division for USPSA and Steel Challenge.

Rule 22.3 External Plugs: External plugs which alter the grip profile or extend past the bottom of the grip are PROHIBITED.

Non-OEM slide stops, magazine catches and grip plugs that extend past the bottom of the grip may be used in Limited/Limited 10 division if declared at registration. If you delare Production Division and ANY prohibited modification is discovered you will be moved to Open Division.

The Grip Force Adapter alters the profile of the grip and is therefore PROHIBITED (see rule 21.4). Stippling, grip tape, grip sleeves, etc may be used provided they only cover areas illustrated in Rulebook Appendix E4.

I run a Glock 34 with a Glockmeister grip plug, an extended tungsten guide-rod, ISMI 15 lb recoil spring, and Dawson Precision adjustable sights in both USPSA and Steel Challenge with NO problems from match officials.

Looks like its onto IDPA ESP for me as I'm not changing these parts back out. Hell the only reason I shoot a Glock 17 now is cause of the Grip Force Adapter. Before the damn things ate up my hand.

Thanks for the help. Now to get Glock to make the GFA an OEM part...

ETA - And NOOOOO, it's not time to switch to the M&P......Yet.

Glocks chew up my hand too. I'm going to switch to an M&P or probably a CZ for Production.

Main reason I dumped Glocks and switched to M&P's..... Plus for me, I shoot them faster and more accurately as well. Might just be a mental thing since I know the guns not going to eat my hand, but it's improved my shooting.

Well cause if I'm gonna do something like that I'm gonna do it right. That means going major with at a minimum a G35 or more likely I would go for the gusto and roll with a purpose built 2011. But I have no need for a 40 outside of playing games.

I hear ya, it sounded like you were going to only shoot IDPA because the pistol doesnt work for production. Shooting minor sucks, I totally understand that.

Never shoot minor except for rifle in three gun. Its simple not worth the point hit. I mean that is unless you don't care about winning or doing well.

I'll shoot limited 10 minor at club matches and simply compare my times to the production crowd. Im at a slight advantage with the magwell but its close enough to get an idea of how you're performing.
