Where to Engrave SBR Markings
I put a poll up to help me decide where to have my SBR markings engraved on my lower receiver.
I was leaning toward the front of the magwell but I thought I'd see what everyone else thought.
The choices listed are those provided by Orion Arms as spots available for SBR engravings.
Thanks.

Just FYI, this forum software doesn't require a "want to see results" option. Not sure if it will let you edit that out though.
As to the question, I'd opt for inside the trigger area, assuming your info will fit there.

I had mine engraved at the front of the magwell only because I also had something else engraved on the side (my avatar to the left).

Did anybody besides me engrave the barrel rather than the receiver?

I am having the front of the magwell on mine done right now. The only reason I chose that location was because I wanted to test fire the lower first and then I didn't want to risk messing it up knocking out the roll pins for the bolt catch and trigger guard. Otherwise I would have done it above the trigger pins.
I would NEVER engrave the barrel on an AR15 SBR. Your lower should last a lifetime; your barrel could wear out or get damaged possibly. It might not even meet BATF requirements depending on how you read the regs.

Engraving the barrel isn't even an option. It has to be on the lower.

It does meet the regulations of receiver or barrel. It's only a hassle when you want to swap uppers. At that point in time, each barrel of each barreled upper will have to have the engraving- even 16" plus ones.

Wrong. Sorry.
CAN be done on an AR but doesn't make much sense so you just don't see it done.
