CMMG Bargain Bin Durability and Reliability

Hey guys, I'm looking for my first M4/AR after owning a Saiga AK and I'm looking for a low cost way to get my hands on one(LOVE the AK, but want an M4 too). Are rifles such as the CMMG bargain bin M4 going to be only cosmetically different than the better models or would I be paying a significant cost in durability and reliability. Muchas gracias for your opinions.

Man

Man if you are looking at BB gun from CMMG I would stay clear buy a stag. I know you did not ask about Stag but you will get a much better gun with Stag. Why buy a gun put together out of a parts bin?and not know whos parts they are. Some cases you pay just as much for the BB gun as the Stag.

Thanks, I've never really looked into Stag. I'll have to check them out!

CMMG Bargain Bin rifle review is here.

I took a chance and recently bought one. I can say that I received a Doublestar. It looks brand new and for the price of $550, I feel that I got a good deal. I have not shot it yet but will be happy to post reviews after I do.

Currently it looks to be unfired. there is no carbon residue on the bolt, the finish looks to be new. There are no wear points on moving parts such as the bolt or carrier, and the gas tube area seems clear of carbon or scorching typical of fired AR's.

Hope this helps

When Napoleon met Tsar Alexander of Russia at Tilsit in 1807 he pointed to a terribly scarred Grenadier. "What do you think of men who can endure such wounds?" he asked. " and what do you think of men who can inflict them?" replied the Tsar. "They're all dead!" interjected the Grenadier, settling the issue once and for all.

If I was looking at an inexpensive way of getting into an AR I would not hesitate to get one from the bargin bin. In fact in the future I will to go along with my Colt 6920. Of course I'd also like to get a Noveske, LMT ans Saber Defense Middy eventually. What can I say I suffer from BRD!

Of course I'd give it a good look over and make sure everything is staked correctly, then enjoy.

I bought one of the bargain bins before Chistmas. Even though I have only shoot 600 round or so, I am extremely pleased with it. All the parts looked new. The hammer, firing pin bolt and all areas of wear showed NO use. as far as the exterior, I found no faults or scratched. One of my sons and a number of friends also have them and all are satisfied. I cannot afford to get a more expensive one. For the money it is a very good value.

I

I think you may have the BB mixded up with the turd guns. Was the price $550.00 or $675.00? The BB guns are all new parts just not thier parts at least thats what I under stand. So the gun you got would look new if it was $675.00 they just use parts from DPMS and the barrels are unown?
