M4/M16/AR Technical Operating Link?

Can somebody direct me to a correctly written technical article that describes the M4/M16's cycle of operation? I'm particularly interested in the operation of the gas system and its interaction with the bolt and bolt carrier group.

Thanks,

Wayne Dobbs

I don't think Jerry Kuhnhausen has done anything for the AR/M16, if that's what you're looking for.

How much detail do you want?

It would probably run a page or two. Is there nothing in the public realm that describes the details of the weapon's operation step by step?

I could email you an attachment from the AF CATM student manual.
