Stag Arms?

I realized that CMT makes parts for most other manufacturers.

How good are complete Stag guns?

They are real good (if you like 1/9 twist barrels and non M4 cut receivers). They do use mil-spec receiver extensions though.

If you get one, make sure that you properly stake the carrier key (as it is lacking IMHO).

They aren't important enough to cut them in.

You can use a punch to stake the carrier key or send it to me to do.

Brian, that would depend on how you plan on using the firearm.

Intended uses are IPSC and personal defense. Reliability is favored over supreme accuracy

If you can find one and afford it, I'd go Colt over Stag....but the Stags are decent rifles for the money, that's for sure.

Colt is a tier 1 manufacturer. Stag on the other hand, wants you as a customer.

non M4 cut receivers

What do you mean by this? Are you talking about the upper receiver or lower receiver?

I have both. My stag is the beater/practice gun. My very limited experiences with both has been good FWIW.
