Parts consideration

I have just purchased a Bushmaster M4 (16" Barrel; I live in NJ, so there are those restrictions); wondering what would be a good start for changing parts, "Replace Fixed Stock", grips, etc. Any thoughts? I have a wish list, but was wondering which should be considered first, the chiken or the egg?
