Chrome lining

It seems that everyone agrees that chromed lined barrels and chambers are the way to go. My question is why do companies offer chrome moly and other nonsense? Is there really that big of a difference between the two besides $40? It just seems to me that everyone wants chrome lining and not a lot of companies offer it standard. Maybe I'm missing something. BTW, I did use the search and couldn't come up with much if this has been discussed before.

Do a search. You will see that not "everyone" thinks that chrome is the way to go.

I'd consider it much like M4 feedramps -- I wouldn't bother to swap it out on a rifle without, but if I was building a new rifle, why not include it?

Nothing to get wrapped around the axle about.

I am in favor of chrome lined barrels. I am also in favor of SS barrels. You have to figure out what you are going to be doing. For instance, if you are shooting Wolf Ammo, with a 10lbs trigger, don't waste your money on a SS barrel (won't get the benefit out of it). Same again goes, if you do not like to clean your weapon. Save your money and get a CL barrel.

I'm no gunsmith , but as a seller of steel I can comment on chrome moly. Chrome moly is simply 4140 steel and it will rust.
