HELP!
I've looked and looked and looked for a vest to buy. I have seen probably every option under the sun. I have no clue who makes good stuff though. I'm wanting it to hold up to a lot of stress and not tear apart on me. I see myself goign with a condor molle operator vest but I dont know how well they hold up. Then I read a earlier posted thread, that took me to Diamondback Tactical. They had a vest that was similair, however I still dont know how they hold up. I have read a lot of threads that keep tlaking about plates, I'm not at the plate position right now. I do want a vest that has plate capabilities. Who makes a good product that fits my needs?

I'm also not at the "plate carrier" stage yet, but am still researching more for my particular needs and uses in the near future. With that in mind, I went with a "starter" chest/vest rig if you will, via Eagle/SKD.
I did see some of those Condor chest/vest/plate carrier rigs at one of the local dealers here. Some prefer to have such gear made State[side] rather than overseas which these were.
Since you stated you're interested in a "vest that has plate capabilities," how about the < P.I.G >?
Have you tried reading up on rob_s' < Evolution of a Chest Rig >? Good information there.
Hope you find what you're looking for and Enjoy!

That Condor vest and a Diamondback Tactical vest are on two totally different ends of the spectrum.
I think that it'll help if you tell us what your "needs" are, because they could range from airsoft games to serious LE/Mil work, which, coincidently is about what the range is from Condor to DBT.

Okay im wanting a plate carrier vest. I dont want a chest rig. I would like it to have molle webbing on the back and front. I'm not going to use it for paintball of airsoft. More on the lines towards military

PM me if you're interested.

If you want a simple answer on nylon gear, the answer is Eagle Industries.
There are other good companies too, a few of which have already been mentioned. When it comes to nylon stuff a lot of people make items that look very similar in pictures...but that's about as far as the similarity goes. Workmanship, materials, and quality vary wildly.
A few companies have an excellent reputation among those who depend on this stuff for survival. Stick to those companies. (Eagle would be one of them, by the way)
A cheaper setup may work fine for someone who never uses it, but if you intend to use it for training the cheaper stuff will fail you sooner or later.

There is a company out of Clovis Ca. that makes tactical gear... Its called Hawke, I am a cop and put my gear through hell.. I swear by this brand. They will custom make anything you want. Fresno PD K-9 handles and tactical teams all use their gear... Take a look there worth the time and money. check www.Hawkepaks.com
Good luck,

After having going through a few that'll be "fit to be tried," only you can answer that. Other's recommendations are simply what "works" for their particular needs. As to manufacturers making quality plate carriers, I'd start looking at Eagle Industries as John_Wayne777 stated.

Thanks to everyone who posted, it helped make my decision. I went with Eagle's plate carrier with cummerbund. It looked to be the best made and I really liked they're lifetime guarantee!
