Are you asking how long the parts will last in a gun?

I don't plan to ever find that out. I know a guy who uses those kits, but I sure as hell don't trust them.

He means in stock. And they are now gone. Nothing wrong with DPMS LPKs.

I don't know. Do they actually produce them?

I know DPMS rifles really suck hind tit. I'd have a hard time using one of their LPKs based on their track record for complete rifles.

I use the DPMS LPK's simply for the bolt catch and spare springs/pins. I sell off the FCG after that usually.

The one AR I have has a DPMS lpk in it, and it's been through about 2k rounds without a hitch.

I will preface this by saying, I do not mean this as a personal attack, nor am I wanting to incite anything but civil discourse.

That said. If you are going to post an opinion like that please have some hard information to back it up. Inexperienced, and unknowing persons looking for genuine information might take it as the gospel, and its not. While DPMS stuff is not complete shit on the order of say a first generation USDM hyundai, they are NOT good, or as good as a quality kit from colt, lmt, or the like.

Of all the grief that is given to builders like DPMS and Rock River on this forum is *ANY* of it about their LPKs in their lowers? I haven't seen any. I'd be thrilled to get a LMT LPK but there aren't any outside of Grant's kits...but good luck getting one of those right now. So outside of that can you show me a great failure rate on DPMS kits? I'm asking an honest question, because I just haven't seen any hard data myself to see a problem with them.

I hear you. I honestly don't know. And when I don't know, I err on the side of caution and pay up for good stuff.

I don't imagine there's a whole bunch of DPMS LPK users on this site though.

I am in the same mindset as mark. Not knowing where they come from and having seen their "outstanding" carbines I am very skeptical of anything they sell. Though we did purchase some of their extractor spring assemblies because they were in stock.

Whew.

Iraqgunz and markm's posts make me feel better about passing on the kits.
I'm trying to hold out for some of Grant's kits.

Oh well, I can always pay $100 for a no name kit on TOS if I can't wait any longer.
