I know the seller

(not me)

he is trying to buy an expensive NFA item and he had great luck selling NIB 2 Oly A1 type ARs for $1500 a piece that he picked up for significantly less...

I wouldn't call him a prick. Its a common practice. The people paying outrageous prices are the real idiots at hand.

Exactly, blame the people who are paying for instance 1500 for an olympic arms AR, not the guy who is selling it for that much.

Hey, look at the upside...

The idiots that payed that much won't be able to afford enough ammo to find out that their rifle is a POS!

I know. Caveat emptor and all that good stuff.
But there is something unethical about ripping people off you are unexperienced and just want to get a sporting rifle before Obama and his minions try to have their way with them.

You know the old saying you can't rape the willing? These people are willingly buying a product. If they dont know they are overpaying then that is their fault. Why are these people waiting until now to buy an AR, or a gun in general? I have had my Sabre almost 2 years now and will have my lower by the end of the week to start my SBR project. I paid $199 for the stripped Sabre lower which is only about 50 bucks or so more than I paid for my first one. i was not willing to spend $300+ for a stripped lower and I didnt. Its not like they are selling water for $20 a bottle to a town in the desert that has none. Nothing unethical about it.

Seriously. If one were to scrap it for parts, which parts could you even use to build a quality gun out of?

Just crap broken up into smaller chunks...

WHich just goes to show that there is a sucker born every minute. I don't think he is being greedy at all. Caveat Emptor. There is nothing unethical about setting a price. Either the market will reward him or it will get him to change his asking price.

Anyone fucking dumb enough to PAY 1500 for a Special Olympics Arms rifle deserves what they get.

I would not feel right GIVING an OLY or a Carbon shit 15 away. I'd still feel like I screwed the recipient.

Hey it's what make America great!

Buy low and sell high. For example, last Christmas (2007) I wanted a wii for the kids. I bought one for $335 on eBay when they were selling at wal-mart for $249. So I kept looking for some, and as soon as they came in I would buy them as fast as I could and took a chance at making some money on them. I put them on eBay for $249.00 and sold 7 of them between $280- and $390. Those people didn't have to spend the money, just like I didn't have to pay $85 more for mine. Supply and demand, If your on the demand part of it, it sucks, if your on the supply part good for you. I bought my AR 15 Bushmaster for $120 more than normal, it sucked, but at least I have mine now.
