Beretta Cx4 Storm 9x19mm

Found above at a sub $700.00 price. I'm tempted do to having a good supply of 9mm on hand (and more than a few M9 mags as well

). Any thoughts or experiences with the platform would be of interest to me. Thank you.

I've play around with a friend's CX4. It's a nice shooting rifle, but doesn't tolerate dirt well. Make sure it's lubed well. It was very accurate out to 100m. Very similar to shooting an MP5 on semi-auto. Trigger was decent (well, I don't remember it being horrible, so it was probably decent). I don't know that I would pay more than $500 for one, though.

I agree; $500 bucks would be about right but given the current hysteria... That being said--this particular example (Cx4) is being offered with the rail package that I understand to be an option on these carbines. Thanks for your reply.

I have one and it’s tricked out with all the aftermarket and factory goodies. Honestly it doesn’t get shot that much anymore. I use to shoot it in pistol caliber only matches held at a local club. The trigger really sucks! The controls are really awkward and it is difficult to quickly change mags.

While the mags are inserted in the grip just like all pistols it just doesn’t handle the same mainly due to the overall size.

I still own it because it’s kind of cool and looks really bad plus the kids can use it but in all honesty I wouldn’t do it again. I would suggest a 9mm AR type rifle or upper instead for so many obvious reasons. I have had really bad luck with the C-products mags and would advise you to hunt down factory Colt mags. My 9mm Ar is run hard as it is shot weekly indoors throughout the winter in a training class. Runs like a top, just doesn’t like CCI Aluminum cases.

IMO this route would make a lot more sense.

Thanks for the info. I wouldn't mind doing an AR in 9mm (357 Sig would be my first choice (if/when its an option

). But seeing as the Storm is available now for immediate use/training...

I have one of these and actually enjoy it. Its something different and gives me the option of using a pistol caliber carbine when the need arises. In fact, I'm looking at using mine during an upcoming patrol rifle instructor school.

I'm running a stubby TD vfg, TLR-1, and M2 on it. For the optic, I just fold the rear sight down and use the rear "ears" as a giant notch to keep my focus on the red dot.

The main point of owning a AR in 9mm is for cheaper target practice vs the .223 and the ability to use it at indoor ranges. I see them as a training rifle and that is what I use mine for. The .357 sig is just going to cost more to shoot and it offers no appreciable edge in terminal performance over the 9mm. So I would have to say don't waste your time on the .357 sig. I did for several years. I owned 8 different pistols in that caliber before I saw the light.

I like mine but they are pretty overpriced.I got mine from a good friend in a trade.
The wife unit likes shooting it more than me I guess because the recoil is not much.
They are pretty fun and mags are plentiful.

Thanks for the reply. Your right about the overpriced part of ownership of these. Texas Gun have raised the price on their examples by a large factor cuz $850.00 bucks isn't what it was first listed at and at that price I'm gonna have to say no.
