It's called breaking them down and building them back up. A sharp smack to the face is sometimes needed and this happens with American troops as well. I saw many of these incidents in the Corps. You can't coddle them forever.

I would assume that if you were dealing with Iraqis versus Afghani tribesman, your approach would be different? Is a browbeating what these guys are used to getting and will respond to?

As someone who has not been to Iraq, but has been around, I would say that there comes a time to call a spade a spade. To be "politically correct" at all times can be simply futile when dealing with individuals that seem to possess concrete blocks for heads.
I gotta agree with that.

Another fact that you seem to be overlooking is that there are far more undisciplined, misguided, weak-willed, overtly corrupt, religious radicals per capita there than there are here. I'll take a welfare recipient over a suicide bomber any day of the week.

Seriously man, what have been watching the past 6 years? If you don't see this dramatic difference, then no one here can help you.

It's situation dependent. I haven't dealt with the Afghanis militarily though I did live with an Afghan family and all I can say is that it depends.

To understand the IP's (lack of) performance, you have to understand where they're coming from. This video is a good place to start: http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=76f_1235913933

Calm down. I linked a funny vid related to the OP. It's a joke, not a political statement.

Real hard to believe that you have been around over a year and think that anyone here would find that crap remotely amusing.

The fact that at least one Iraqi spoke up with excuses shows the ass chewing pushed one guys buttons. Too bad the others will whack him later.
