BUIS' that will co-witness with Eotech 553

I have an Eotech 553 mounted on my BM M-4. I wanted a flip-up rear sight that would co-witness my optic, so I got one at my local gun shop instead of waiting for weeks on an order to arrive. I originally wanted a GG&G MAD sight, which they didn't have, but I did find a Pro Mag sight that looked almost identical.
I mounted the sight, and took it out to the gravel pit where I do my shooting the next day to zero it in. I discovered that the sight is a little too low. Although I can get a sight picture with it, the bottom of the diopter is cluttered by the back of the Eotech. I wish I had waited to get a better rear sight!
Can anyone recommend a good flip-up that they know will be tall enough for use with my 553?

maybe it's the front sight. bushmaster front sights aren't "F" front sights.

I have used a 553 on both a Bushmaster and my Colt 6940. While it does sit a bit low in the sight picture it is still quite usable.

553's are built for lower 1/3 co-witness. If you want absolute co-witness you will need a 552 or one of the other Eo sight's designed for absolute co-witness.

Yep - I gotta 557 on my POF - same deal. Gonna go back to a 512 or 517 on my M&P15.

There's no real need for elevation adjustment on a rear BUIS. After all, it's a backup sight that you'll only use if the optic fails...it's not meant for target shooting. Just use the front sight post to set your elevation with your BUIS and forget about it.

All the major rear BUIS (Troy, MI, LMT, LaRue, KAC, Magpul, PRI, etc) will provide a proper lower 1/3 cowitness with your EoTech. Just pick the one that you like best.

Thanks drich. I used an ARMS swan sleeve on a Colt I had and never had a problem at Aimpoint distance. I thought I'd try one with elevation adj just in case I wanted a precise shot at long range.
