Daniel Defense Lite Rail ?

Hi everyone,

Is the Daniel Defense Lite rail pretty much the same concept as the Mk18 Ris II? What are the major differences if any?

Also, without creating a new thread....would it be safe to say that the DD Lite 9.0 and the Larue 9.0 are equal in quality and solid-ness?

Thanks for any help you can offer,
-B

MK18 2 piece, Lite rail 1 piece

Lite rail monolithic, Larue not, Lite Rail barrel nut is independent of the gas tube allowing more flexibility since it doesn't impact gas tube alignment.

Larue rails have an integrated QD swivel cup and an arguably more solid lock up method. I prefer the cross section of the DD rails so I run Lites or Omegas on all of my rifles. I would not turn down a Larue if I got a good deal on one. Also, the RIS II rails have the lower rail much closer to the barrel than the Lites. This makes the cross section almost egg shaped, I recall that Larues are similar.

I feel that DD lite rails are very good quality. and very light.

larue are very sturdy but not as light.
