LaRue Rail and Noveske Switchblock

Can anyone tell me if a Noveske 16" N4 barrel with a Switchblock will fit under a LaRue Tactical 13.2" handguard (rail system)? I am exploring some different options for that build and I want to start getting the stuff now. If not can anyone make a recommendation for a similar set in, with a similar length?

I doubt the Noveske SB would fit under ANY rail at all. The SB itself is almost as tall as the TOP of the rail itself. Way too big.
In all reality, it looks quite nice sitting out in front of the rail though...

Swatdawg,

Thanks for the reminder. Looking at those pics I remembered why I couldn't do it. So it looks as if 9 inches is as far as I can go.

Carbine only (7") with 10.5" SwitchBlock upper

I just had WES at MSTN build me the following, expect to arrive later this week:
  • LaRue M4 billet Upper
  • Noveske N4 10.5" w/ SwitchBlock barrel
  • LaRue 7" (only size that works w/ SB according to WES)
  • SF FH556
  • Young M16BCG DiamondBlack w/ LMT Bolt
  • Gas Buster (DiamondBlack)

**VIS 1 would also be a nice choice. Appears as if there is <0.5" clearance between SB gas block and the end of the 7" LaRue Rail

No, it will not.

We have 16" N4's, 10.5's N4's (with SB's) and have LT rails in stock for builds (if interested).

Grant,

What I was envisioning was a rail that would cover the Switchblock and still allow for access to the switch. Then I remembered why it wasn't possible. Basically I am (was) looking for a clean streamlined looking barrel with the rail that would have a Feng Shui with my suppressor.

Interested in a similar idea - would a DD 9.5 rail work or is the SB too wide?

Cheers,

IG,

Might I suggest the possibility of using a DD 12.0 FSPM Lite Rail?
If it would work, in theory, it would give you "some" of the Feng Shui you seek. Just a thought.

One of the rails cut out for the FSB would work. May require some additional "hogging" of the material here and there, and re-assembly could be a real bitch.

Remind me to revisit this thread in a month or so with something...

What about the RIS II? With the FSB opening it would give the same rail space as the lite fsb, but with "easier" install because the RIS can be separated into two an upper and lower halves where I don't believe the lite rails have this feature. All I have to go on is pictures from the internet so just an fyi.

Good time for a first post. This will give you an idea of how tall the SB is relative to a 9" LaRue rail. Frankly it looks pretty good sitting in front of the rail I think. Wes built the 16" N4 way back when they first came out.

Only side shot I have of it. It works, and works well.
