I live in Fort Collins and i'm looking for a reputable person to get some training (pistol) from. I'm also unimpressed with the stores/shops in this area with the exception of Rocky Mountain Shooters Supply. They have a nice indoor range and seem knowledgeable.

So what shops do you think i should venture out to? Also, I cannot find ANY S&W 40 ammo. Halp please. (preemptive newb forgiveness?)

Welcome aboard... I also live in Northern Colorado.
I would give Jensen in Loveland a try for ammo. I noticed quite a bit of 40s&w ammo when I went there a couple of weekends ago. Bob can be a cranky guy, but he has a good crew and great selection and decent prices on equipment.
Ask for Ray when you go in. He works part-time at the shop and amongst other occupations, he is a good trainer and a nice guy.

I went to Jensens quite a few times until recently. I had a serious FFL transfer issue with them and they have been dick heads to quite a few people that i know. I'm done dealing with them. Shitty cause they do have a great selection of everything.
