DD XV versus CDD D-M4LE

Like the title says I'd like to know how these two carbines stack up to one another.

Specifically the barrels, the finish and does the DDXV come with a carbine or heavy buffer from the factory.

Thanks!!!

I believe I would opt for the hammer forged barrel myself.

Is it chrome lined?

Info for rob_s for the chart:

4150 hammer forged 1/7 5.56 NATO chrome lined barrel.
H buffer
staked QD DD end plate to castle nut
staked bolt M16 bolt carrier
M4 feed ramps

The barrel is the same traditional 16" M4 profile. Magpul MOE stock, DD forward grip, DD fixed BUIS sight. Magpul PMAG.
I'll take a look today but I'm sure it's a MPI tested bolt.

The DDXV will have a Cold Hammer Forged Barrel, Mil Spec Collapsible Buttstock, Rear Receiver QD, A1.5 Fixed Rear Sight, and it will still ship with a PMag. Upper, Lower, BCG, and all internals are the same high quality parts found in our DDM4. This Rifle will not have a hard case. The flood gates open next week.

Good luck finding a D-M4LE for a price less than what you'd pay for a brand new 6920 or, better yet, an XV. From what I can tell the D-M4LE is inferior to the 6920 or XV.

Granted, It's not a Colt or a DDXV, I would'nt go so far as to call it "inferior" either..The DM4LE still ranks pretty well on the "chart" With mine, I swapped out the BCG with a LMT unit I had, nothing wrong with the stock BCG, I just wanted a full auto carrier for the weight, and a HP'd and MP'd bolt. Doing that wipes out almost all of the "white" areas on the chart, I'm not sure what they're going for now, I paid $957 out the door (Sept'08) That was a fair deal then..

$957 is robbery! I'm sure they'll drop down to that price again now that the post-election craziness is abating, but right now they're going for more than a Colt or DD, which is why I said it's an inferior choice. I'm sure it's a great rifle!

As an owner of a CD M4LE, I would say right now the DD XV is the better deal. My CD has been a great rifle and I highly recommend it but availability on them has been very limited recently. When I bought mine 10 months ago for $905 the CD was without doubt the best value on the market but right now they are selling for $1200 range while the DD XV is going for the $1150 range and I think the DD XV may be a slightly better rifle.

For what its worth, if I was purchasing a second M4, it would probably be the DD XV because of the excellent value.

The difference between the two is $20. The CDD D-M4LE is $20 less than the DD XV.

For the price and specs its hard to beat what the DD XV is offering right now.
