Picked up a surplus Sig 228 from Switzerland.

I picked it up tonight. It had rubber grips which I am going to replace as I have small hands and prefer the stock plastic ones. I replaced the front sight with a fiber optic one. I also ordered 3 spare mags from Brownells at the same time I ordered the gun. Now I just need a double mag pouch holder and I could use it in IDPA if I wanted. It fits in a blade tech holster I have for my P6 but a tad tight. I only paid 439 for the gun 18 in shipping and 30 in an FFL fee.

What makes you believe the gun is from Switzerland?

That's a good deal. I wonder if we'll ever see surplus 226's?

Its been a while since I checked the pricing but you might consider sending it back to SIG for a going over and refinishing.

Sig 228

Well just got home cleaned and lubed her up. Holster wear on slide, inside very little wear on rails, smileys on bbl. Looks like very low round count. I got three mags and the cool German pull through cleaning kit.
