Problem after cleaning....

Got a problem... After cleaning my AR, i tried to load a CProducts LLC mag into the magwell and it won't catch.... I then inserted a magpul mag into the magwell and it latches without an issue.. This magazine was latching fine prior, so not sure what the hell I may have screwed up? Any suggestions? I have taken it back apart and put it back together again, still same issue....

how many rounds you load to? download to 28 or 29 and you probably wont have any problems. especially if you had 31 in there.

What he said. If you are trying to insert and aluminum magazine into the magwell and it is loaded to max capacity you are going to have rough times. Magpul not so much.

Is this with the bolt closed or open? I have noticed the problem with the bolt closed, but not open. Since I can't own Pmags in my state this is good info to have.

Bolt closed. Reason is that the magazine cannot compress any further because it is maxed out. So the round is actually hitting the bottom of the BCG. It's obviously a non-issue with the BCG to the rear.

Sweet, I just learned something. I knew it was a problem, but i wasn't sure why it was happening. I can get the mags to seat but I have to smack them on the ass, something I don't like doing at all.

if you're using restricted magazines, you're gonna find that's a real problem.. i remember the restricted mags back during the ban- you could barely squeeze the 10th round in, and tactical reloads were anything but tactical.

download one round, and you'll have a better time..
