Army Develops Helmet-Mounted Radar

"a miniature, low power, near 360-degree field of view Moving Target Indicator (MTI) radar sensor that will alert the soldier to the whereabouts of a target out to at least 25 meters. The sensor is to be mounted, embedded, and integrated within the Advanced Combat Helmet and associated sensor suite"

I bet I can break it first time out without even trying. That will be a great thing if it works as advertised. If cell phones cause cancer then what will these cause?

25m 360 SA? Why?

Maybe this is a tool in the toolbox at night in dense woods, at night, if no one is moving. I don't think the radar would be very useful in buildings.

Once people moving and shooting this thing will be anywhere from useless to sensory overload much like fighter pilots get when their aircraft starts yelling at them and they still have to fly and fight bad guys.

KISS. Things that seem like good ideas in a video game or in the lab really don't play out in real life. I give you FORCE XXI and all of it's vapor wear children.

I wish they would just use this money to buy more troops binocular NVGs of some type and more night live fire training.
