Stippling rail panels complete

I stippled my XTM panels. This was my first time, and it was a lot easier than I thought. I stippled the XTM panels since I wanted practice before I stipple a pair of extra KAC rail panels next.

Anyone has any suggestions for stippling KAC panels? I have an old dremel, so I assume first dremel (via sanding drum?) off the ribs then stipple right? I want to get it right on the first time since it's pretty much irreversible if I screw it up.

After that project, I might stipple portions of my Glock 19 frame.

Looks good! I prefer the “random” pattern myself. Here is a good tutorial from TOS. I sanded off the ribs before stippling and am very impressed with the effectiveness.

Thanks for the info, looks good! Do you have a picture of the entire panel?

if you sand down the ribs on a KAC panel then stipple it, don't you end up with something really close to a tangodown SCAR panel?

Something like that. The TD SCAR panels are better in that regard. I have a lot of extra KAC panels laying around, so I figured I'd put them into good use eventually. I don't feel like getting new panels since I already have so many laying around.

Great work on them, thanks for the picture.
What head/tip did you use for that stippling texture?

I used a flat head screw (~1/4") and checkered the top. Twist or drag with each step to create that "random" pattern. You can do it with a single point tip as well but it will take a lot more steps.
