What AR 15 Multi Tool?
I was wondering what multi tool you guys use to remove castle nuts, delta rings, and buttstock assemblies? I bought a $5.00 DPMS castle nut wrench and it broke in about 5 minutes. DPMS uses locktite on their castle nuts. They have one on their website that is called a multi tool for about $34. Any suggestions or opinions will be appreciated.

I think everyone should have the DPMS mult-tool wrench. Just be advised that the castle nut part will wear out fast and the two posts for remove the barrel nut will also break (eventually).

I have the DPMS multi tool and I'm happy with it.
I've removed&reinstalled barrels of 5 different ARs with the same wrench

Just ordered the DPMS Multi Tool from gg&g $24 plus s&h. The one from Brownells was a little more than I wanted to spend.

FWIW, the DPMS tool does not get very good reviews on the Brownell's website (two, one star ratings). Interestingly, the same tool does get good reviews on the MidwayUSA website (21 reviews with a 4 star average).

I have broken two DPMS multi tool wrenches trying to remove free float tubes. I will never waste the money on another.

I've thought about asking the same thing as the OP.
What about these? (I already have a RRA stock wrench mainly I'd be looking at something for the barrel nut.)

The Std GI Wrench is not bad, I use one for barrel work along with my DPMS wrench.
One thing to keep in mind with the GI wrench.....only three pins means less contact with the barrel nut teeth. This means the GI wrench is more prone to slipping off the barrel nut if you are not paying attention.
Pressing in on the wrench while tightening the barrel nut, compresses the delta ring, helping to prevent wrench slippage which usually equates to damaged barrel nut teeth.

Hmm, so it's either shear off the teeth on the tool or sheer them off the barrel nut... Is the DPMS tool the best then? How are these?

I’ve never used that particular wrench.
As far as the DPMS wrench goes, I’ve never experienced any problems with mine. Do not regret buying it, and would recommend it.
