Noveske Flash Hider???
Ive got the 5.56NATO just got it about a week ago. Love it. Ya the flash hider does make it look a little better but it also does alter the flash and noise of the rifle. What you got?

the only Noveske-branded FH is the KX3. is that what you're referring to? unless you're running an SBR 10.5 inches or shorter, you don't need to be looking at them

Take some time to look around here and read. You will learn what the purpose of the KX3 flash hider is. Yes, it will add length to your barrel. Aside from it may look cool, it will serve you no practical purpose.

FWIW (basically what you pay for it) IMHO the KX3 and muzzle devices like it are really only good for one thing. That thing is to control muzzle blast on short barrels (11.5" and shorter).....they do help shorter barrels get enough gas to cycle properly but that is really just a side effect same as a sound suppressor.

+1 with everybody.
Ive been using the KX3 on SBRs for the last four years and its attached to a 10.5 SBR now. I even tried it out once in a 14.5 bbl during a match (i would never do that again). It sure didn't look nice on the rifle and it sure didn't help reduce any recoil.
That said, the KX3 is great for negating muzzle blast to the sides in shorties. Especially if you use it for work.

I have the .308 version on my Ar10 carbine. The muzzle blast used to be excessive but not anymore. However it does recoil.

The big problem is that your overall barrel length is now 18.5 inches long. If you are going to have a barrel that long you might as well get an 18 inch barrel and take advantage of the added accuracy that comes with it.
Also on a 16" barrel you do not need the extra back pressure that it gives you. It can cause the weapon to not cycle correctly. I just did a build for a guy that was running a 16" barrel and a KX3 and he was having problems with it. I cut the barrel to 13.7 and pinned the KX3 and it now runs fine.

The Noveske KX3 Pig FH also weighs 8 ounces so that's not something you want to add on to the ed of a 16 inch barrel when it doesnt add any value to such a setup.

Barrel length has nothing to do with accuracy.

At longer ranges it does.

That is true because of the velocity loss but you are not going to be shooting a carbine to 1000 yards.

That doesn't sound like much until you put it on the end of the barrel - your rifle becomes very nose heavy.
