Short Barrel AR

I am getting ready to build a short barrel ar (10.5 or 11.5). I cannot decide which brand or maker to use. I do know I want a heavy profile but that is about it.

Any Suggestions?

Colt.

Personally though, I'd skip the heavy barrel (and have done so twice now)

1. Noveske
2. Noveske
3. Noveske

After that, you have Denny at GTS, Bravo Co, and Grant at MSTN

Shorty Barrel Choice

You cannot go wrong with the factory Colt 11.5 or the Noveske offerings. I have an 11.5 Colt and a 10.5 Noveske. The 10.5 is my favorite. If I had to do it over I would get the lightest contour John offers. My only complaint is the weight of my upper. (Larue 7.0,krink brake, Troy flip ups, A/P CompM in larue mount and TD foregrip. Wes @MSTN or John@Noveske can build you a great upper. YMMV

I am having the same problem.
What about the LMT MRP 10.5. I really dont think I need a "match grade" barrel. I need more of a blaster capable out to 300.

Don't plan on using much more than AE 55gr. xm855. xm193, and q3131a. May shoot a little TAP or MK262 every once in a while. Would it be overkill to get a Noveske. Pricewise the Noveske is a little less. But what about barrel life on the Noveske?

Weigh is also a concern because my S&B Short Dot is gonna be on top of this.

Yep. That and the weight are the reason I only own 6933s (1:7).
